The Reverend Professor Russell Goulbourne is the ninth Warden of Trinity College. A distinguished academic leader, prior to his appointment as Warden, Russell was Professor of French Literature at the University of Melbourne, where he served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts from 2019 to 2024. An alumnus of Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appTheological School, he was ordained as a priest in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne in 2021.
Russell has held senior academic and leadership roles across leading international institutions. He completed his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Studies and Doctor of Philosophy at Keble College, University of Oxford, before joining the University of Leeds, where he taught from 2000 to 2013 and served as Head of the Department of French. In 2014, he was appointed Professor of French Literature and Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at King’s College London, a role he held until 2018, before relocating to Australia to join the University of Melbourne.
Widely respected for his scholarship in French literature and his commitment to education, Russell brings extensive experience in academic strategy, institutional governance and community leadership. His vision for Trinity is grounded in academic excellence, service to the community and a deep alignment with the College’s values and traditions, positioning the College for continued strength and success in the years ahead.

Leonie Jongenelis joined Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appas Dean of the Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«app in January 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education with Honours from the University of Western Australia, where she also earned a Master of Educational Management. Her career has spanned key roles in Indigenous education and the juvenile justice system in Western Australia, before transitioning into the private secondary school sector and currently the Tertiary sector.
As Dean, Leonie successfully guided the residential community through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her commitment to student well-being has been instrumental in embedding the Neave Review recommendations into the College's culture during the past six years. Leonie and her team are currently working on the second College Cultural Review, further enhancing the Trinity experience by fostering a stronger sense of belonging, inclusivity, and safety in keeping with the strategic intent of The College.
Leonie is passionate about residential college life and about supporting diverse student populations, particularly those from non-traditional educational backgrounds. She is dedicated to expanding access to higher education for young people facing significant barriers and frequently engages with students in remote, rural, and regional areas across Australia. Her efforts have contributed to enhancing the diversity and inclusivity of the Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appcommunity and empowering Trinity students to excel and make a meaningful contribution to their world.

Richard Pickersgill commenced his role as Dean of the Pathways School in January 2019. He joined Trinity from Haileybury, Australia’s largest independent school, which has four campuses in Melbourne, one campus in Darwin and an international campus just outside Beijing. Richard finished his 18 years at Haileybury as the Deputy Principal. Prior to this, Richard held a number of positions within the school, including the Head of Senior School, Assistant Principal, Head of House and Director of the School’s groundbreaking VCE-in-China programs.
In his six years at Trinity Richard has changed the mix of programs offered within the school to streamline delivery and make Trinity’s Foundation Studies programs more attractive to prospective students. He has also implemented new vision and mission programs and lead the design and implementation of a new workload model. In the coming years Richard will initiate a number of exciting initiatives including Trinity’s first foray into transnational education as well a comprehensive partner schools' program which aims to increase the number of students coming to Trinity from some of Asia’s strongest public schools.
Richard completed a Master of Education at the University of Melbourne in 2016, supplementing previous tertiary studies in English literature, psychology, sociology and philosophy.

Bob Derrenbacker joined Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appin January 2019 from Thorneloe University, an Anglican college federated with Laurentian University in Sudbury, Canada. There he served as President, Provost and Vice-Chancellor.
Bob has a PhD in New Testament studies from the University of St Michael’s College at the University of Toronto; a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; and, a Bachelor of Arts from Wheaton College. His research interests centre on the Synoptic Gospels, the Synoptic Problem, the Sayings Gospel Q, Paul’s Letters, and the social world of the New Testament.
Bob was ordained Priest in the Diocese of Toronto (Anglican Church of Canada) in 2002. He is currently an Associate Priest at St Paul’s Cathedral, where he is also a member of Chapter.
Bob is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Canadian Society of Biblical Studies, the Catholic Biblical Association of America, and the Society of New Testament Studies. He is also Past President of the Board of Trustees for the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion.

Scott Charles's involvement with Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appstretches back to when he was a student of the Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«app in the late 80s. Since then, he has always stayed connected to Trinity. He was a residential tutor in the mid 90s, celebrated his marriage at Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appin 2003 and has held many voluntary positions on committees over the years. In 2013, after 15 years working with the global food manufacturer Mars Confectionery in roles in Australia, the United States, China and South East Asia, Scott was recruited to the position of Director of Advancement. In that role he leads a team whose responsibility is to gather the support, both moral and financial, to allow Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appto bring its exciting initiatives to life.
Scott believes he has the best job in the world as his role involves catching up with old friends or meeting incredibly interesting people, and talking to them all about projects Trinity can undertake to make the world a better place. Scott added the Deputy Warden position to his Trinity portfolio in January 2019.

Alison Menzies was appointed the Director of Human Resources at Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appin 2014 (later the Director of Shared Services), after starting work at the College in 1997. Alison joined Trinity as the inaugural student counsellor for the Foundation Studies program, which now sits within the Pathways School. She then moved into marketing the program and went on to spend nearly 15 years leading the Marketing and Admissions team in the Pathways School. In this position, Alison had the opportunity to travel around the world and meet many prospective Trinity students and their families. Prior to working at Trinity, Alison lived in London and worked as a social worker. She is a three-time graduate of the University of Melbourne, with a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work and Graduate Diploma in Management.

Kate Elix joined Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appin October 2019 from the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) where she was Head of Marketing, a role she held for two years.
Prior to her role at ANZIIF, Kate held several different senior marketing and communications positions, during a nine-year period, at the Victoria Racing Club (VRC). A research-driven and data-driven marketer, her experience is in marketing strategy, customer engagement, and acquisition and retention strategy.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina which she attended on a full tennis scholarship. She also holds a Masters in Organisational Communication from Charles Sturt University.

Lyn Shalless joined Ãâ·Ñ»ÆÉ«appas Chief Financial Officer in March 2017. Lyn has more than 30 years senior management experience in the corporate sector for both private and ASX-listed entities. These roles included responsibility for management of risk, internal audit, multinational tax, investor relations and corporate finance. Lyn has also acted as probity adviser to various Victorian Government departments on major infrastructure procurement projects.
She is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Master of Financial Management (Central Queensland University), a Bachelor of Business – Accountancy (Queensland Institute of Technology) and a Graduate Certificate of Divinity (University of Divinity).
